Qatar Airways has a sizable presence at Bangkok with up to 5 daily departures from Bangkok to Doha, as well as a tag on flight from Bangkok to Hanoi. Unfortunately, up until now, Qatar Airways has used the Thai Airways Royal Orchid lounge which is… not up to Qatar’s usual standard. It is not bad, but it is aging rapidly and can be very crowded at night especially. It’s food selection is below par as well.
Well, it looks like Qatar Airways will be improving their ground experience at Bangkok. Per Flyertalk member Pook on a recent FlyerTalk thread, a new lounge is under construction! The lounge will be located at the D concourse which is where the majority of their flights leave from. Qatar has slowly been expanding their lounges worldwide, now hosting their own lounges in Doha, Dubai, Paris and London.
You can see construction pictures here and here, though there is not much to see yet. It is likely that Qatar Airways will follow a similar theme as their other lounges, which should look great, as you can see from their lounge in London:

Qatar Airways as an amazing onboard product, though their ground services at Bangkok have been lacking for a while. It is good to see them slowly expanding with their own branded lounges.
